Musica con Vista: Italy’s summer festival of classical music… with a view!
Ah, concerts! They’ve been on a pause for so long that we’ve almost forgotten that sense of thrill when the lights go down and the musicians play the first notes. But live music is finally coming back to Italy, and when it’s connected to the cultural heritage of the country, you’re sure to be in for a real treat.
Between the months of June and September, some of Italy’s most beautiful historic gardens, courtyards, and cloisters will provide a privileged backdrop for Musica con Vista, a special series of open-air classical concerts that promise absolutely magical evenings.
This festival, which the AMUR chamber music committee organizes in collaboration with the Italian Association of Historic Houses (ADSI) and Le Dimore del Quartetto social enterprise, will showcase classical music performances in utterly beautiful places that speak volumes about Italy’s incredible cultural identity and heritage. Venues include such treasures as the Mirasole Abbey in Opera, the Castle of Buttrio, the Garden of Philosophers in Solomeo, and the Ducal Palace in Urbania. Most of these locations are part of ADSI and the National Trust for Italy (FAI).
Now in its second edition, the festival’s program will feature a fantastic line-up of young, international ensembles performing timeless compositions. What’s more, each concert will be supplemented by a number of collateral activities to help visitors experience the hidden wonders of the territory. These will include delightful tasting sessions, excursions, readings and exhibitions, all to take place on the day of the live performance.
These small outdoor concerts have been conceived as a way to revitalize the territories, particularly the peripheral areas, by creating an opportunity for institutions, cultural operators, local artisans and associations to come together on the road to recovery. Our Tales Hotel Collection and VIT teams are proud to support this festival, as we strongly believe in projects that promote sustainable forms of tourism focusing on local communities, the promotion of lesser-known places, and the interaction with the local culture.
The concerts of Musica con Vista are certainly a great excuse to return to Italy, enjoy amazing concerts in the beautiful outdoor spaces the country has to offer, and – why not – treat yourself to a very special stay in a Tales hotel. Further details about the festival programme and how to attend are available on the Musica con Vista website.
