Piccolo Sant’Andrea, Praiano
Piccolo Sant’Andrea is a heavenly five-star retreat located near the pretty village of Praiano and only a few minutes from Positano (guests can use complimentary shuttles to both villages all day long). Named after Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Amalfi, the hotel enjoys a spectacular setting on the side of a cliff, offering unobstructed views of the coast that extend towards the island of Capri.
Piccolo Sant’Andrea was opened in 2018 by the Sartori brothers to honour their father, Venetian entrepreneur Odino Sartori, who fell in love with this magical coastal spot while on business in Naples back in the 1970s and decided to build his buen retiro here.
The stunning panoramic pool is particularly pleasant for relaxing after a day out exploring the beauties of the Amalfi Coast, and there’s lots of outdoor space with comfy seating areas to linger over a drink surrounded by the sweet scent of the orange blossoms.
A range of wellness and beauty treatments are also available at the hotel’s spa, which includes a large heated pool with jacuzzi (one of the biggest in the area), a sauna, a Turkish bath, and an emotional shower.
Food & Drink
Campania region classics fill the menu at the onsite restaurant, which stocks up on locally grown produce from selected family producers. Guests dine on a beautiful panoramic terrace, where special themed dinners are occasionally organised to delve into the culinary delights of the territory. A light lunchtime menu with dishes like Caprese salads and cold cuts plates can be enjoyed poolside.
Breakfast is a lavish continental buffet to enjoy with no rush lulled by the sound of the waves. During the day, a range of refreshing cocktails and traditional aperitifs are served at the lobby bar, which opens onto a panoramic terrace that is beautifully candlelit at night.
Rooms
Rooms are bright and airy, perfectly blending with the magical landscape that surrounds the hotel. The décor mixes local traditions and modern design, with white featuring heavily, livened up (accented) by pops of sea blue coming from the windows and the bold color palettes used for the precious fabrics by Venetian designer Rubelli.
Most offer spacious panoramic terraces with outdoor showers or private gardens with sea views and all are furnished with Flos lamps, minibar, television, and air conditioning. Beds are exceptionally comfortable, with Simmons mattresses and pure linen sheets, while bathrooms are equipped with double sinks, large mirrors, and jacuzzi bathtubs.
For something truly special, the Igea Suite comes with a panoramic outdoor jacuzzi and a and double canopy beach bed, while the Odi Suite has a private garden with a four-poster bed and an indoor mosaic pool.
