Metropole, Venice
Gloria Beggiato is the passionate owner and manager of the iconic hotel overlooking the Grand Canal.
None can express better than her the identity of the Metropole:
“Over the years, I tried to give this home a soul and a strong personality, eclectic and intense. Metropole is a place where you can experience an emotional journey. Whatever you live here, staying or dining, always remember we made it with passion and love. After all, here, nothing happens by chance.”
The Metropole Hotel has been run by the Beggiato family, Venetian hoteliers for generations. Today, Gloria continues the tradition, but has introduced to the Metropole a hint of mistery and Oriental elegance, enhancing its unconventional identity.
Venice, like the Metropole, is a captivating place which strikes the eye and moves the heart. The Metropole embodies most of the Venetian fascination: eccentric, warm, eclectic, each particular tells a story.
The Oriental Bar reveals the strict connection of the city with the Eastern world; you can feel the influence of the Middle East, of the Ottoman Empire and the Balkans. The bar is an enchanted corner permeated with oriental spirit and the fragrance of spices.
The Citrus Garden represents the Mediterranean influence on the city with scented jasmine, palms, and orange trees. Verdant and luxuriant, a place to linger to eat breakfast outdoor in peace surrounded by white gazebos.
It’s not a rare finding in Venice, a place that tells you marvellous tales, but this building is worthy of Shahrazād and “One thousand and one nights”.
You can find the palace on a legendary map dated 1500. Antonio Vivaldi gave music lessons and from 1703 to 1740 composed his masterpieces: the Estro Armonico op.III, the Concertos, and the Four Seasons. In 1880, a further major restoration transformed the building into a hotel known as the “Casa Kirsch”.
Lifestyle & Art Collections
At the Metropole, you will embrace a glamorous lifestyle. Start with the Tea Ceremony, from October to March, in collaboration with the Dammann Freres and end with exclusive parties at the Bar with Dj set.
You can spend hours at the gallery looking after the unique private antique collections, where you will find more than 2000 antiques on display while others located on the four floors and in the rooms themselves. Object coming from the past to re-evoke a timeless romanticism, miniature treasure passed down through epochs.
Rooms
The Metropole offers 47 rooms, with 20 suites. All are extraordinarily different in style and original furnishing.
The Classic Rooms are intimate and quiet, with a view over the Garden or a typical Venetian alleyway and the La Pietà church. The De Luxe Rooms are comfortable and elegant, with original Deco style period furniture. A few enjoy the view of the lagoon. The Prestige Rooms are original, eclectic, fascinating, with different points of view.
Precious and welcoming are the Junior Suite, with a spectacular panoramic view over the Venice Lagoon and the island of San Giorgio. The Grand De Luxe are spacious and able to accommodate three people, with an evocative view over the side canal.
Among our favourites, the Suites with Terrace, that bring a unique emotion, with a breathtaking view over the heart of lagoon and rooftops of Venice, with private “hammam”.
The prestigious Suites Canal View offer a spectacular view over the Venice Lagoon and the island of San Giorgio.
Finally, the incredible Suite Damasco, a spectacular and intriguing ambience, with a magnificent panoramic view over the Venice lagoon and the island of San Giorgio, with private “hammam” and bathtub in the lounge.
