Food & Drink

Palmaria Restaurant magnificent, set in a Mediterranean veranda overlooking Portovenere Bay, remember a sort of contemporary sailing ship that is about to sail towards the horizon: the choice of rubberized teak wood flooring, in nautical style, recalls the ancient technique of caulking, such as the waterproofing of the hulls by the numerous master caulkers of the Gulf of Poets.
The cuisine proposed by the Chef Angelo Di Menza is a journey into the journey, being inspired by the “Grand Tour”, an educational rite of passage undertaken by upper-class young European men of sufficient means and rank.
The Bar is a quiet retreat after busy days. The original brick vaulted ceiling is a beautiful feature, but the primary draw is the fantastic view across the Gulf of Poets and the medieval heart of Porto Venere.

Staying in Portovenere

Perched on the romantic Golfo dei Poeti’s western promontory and inspirations for poets, writers and painters during the centuries, Portovenere continues to be a lovely, scenic place for a day trip or a relaxing base for exploring the coast. The village has often been called the “sixth” Cinque Terre town, offering the same celebrated seaside settings, remarkably scenic coastlines and walking paths less a good deal of the tourist noise.

Every trip we take contributes to build our own life story.

A story that is a patchwork of encounters, experiences and memories made while traveling. And just like fabric scraps in a quilt, every trip we take, no matter how big or long, holds its own special place in our life and contributes to shape who we are.
